IMAGINE with your mind. BELIEVE with your heart. ACHIEVE with your might.

Administration/ Vice-Principal

Dr. Michael DuBose

MD

Dr. Michael DuBose believes in the mantra that states "reach for the stars" since our dreams can be a roadmap to personal achievement.

School 1 is an excellent school because our students are excellent! Our school is emblematic of PPS's goal to ensure all students receive high-quality instructions from world-class teachers. The 2025-2026 school year will surely be an exciting time not only for our students but for our instructional and parental stakeholders.  Some areas of achievement will derive from collaborative approaches with community partners like the parent teacher organization (PTO), Metropolitan Opera, Sharron Miller's Academy for the Performing Arts (SMAPA), Jersey Cares, and the Elmwood Park-Paterson Elks Lodge #60, to name a few.

Further, School 1 understands the imperativeness of recognizing student excellence. Students will propel higher when they are noticed for their unique talents and proclivities. Students can expect such recognition under the guise of programming like:

National Elementary Honor Society-a federal program that highlights academic excellence and leadership under the following tenets:

Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character

Knight of the Month is a school-wide program developed by Lisa Bauch, which highlights those students who demonstrate positive character traits that align with the acronym of PRIDE:

Purpose, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, & Empathy

Honor Students is a school-wide program wherein students are acknowledged for displaying brilliant grades for each of the four marking periods. School honors include the Principal's List (Straight A's), Honor Roll (As & Bs), and Achievement Roll (A's, B's, and 1 C).

Star Students is an exclusive program that recognizes students who performed at a level of 5 (Exceeded Expectations) or 4 (Met Expectations) on the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA).

Accumulatively, it is critical that these programs  are inclusive of our family stakeholders, because at School 1 we value the proverb "it takes a village to raise a child."

In all, Renaissance One School of Humanities is committed to ensuring the very best by our students. To reach this ideology, it is noted that there is no "I" in teamwork and thereby as a school community, we function most effectively with cooperation and collaboration of our parent and community stakeholders.
